Abstract

In March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the pandemic status of the new coronavirus, called Sars-Cov-2. The spread of the virus started in China and spread around the world, affecting several countries and contaminating a large number of people. With the arrival of the pandemic, social isolation became part of the population's routine and food took on a different meaning depending on availability, access and guarantee of the right to food. Sharing recipes and celebrations through social media platforms, cleaning food purchased at supermarkets, strengthening commensality and other various aspects of eating were observed during this period. On the other hand, a large portion of the population that already lived in food and nutritional insecurity went into extreme hunger, not having their right to adequate and healthy food guaranteed. The purpose of this work is to present the experiences of eating and eating during the pandemic through the perceptions of a Nutritionist in social isolation.
