Abstract

The present article aims to report the trajectory of the Study Group on Consumption, Culture, and Food – GECCA, from its creation to the present day. The formation of the group is closely related to the intellectual and academic journey of its founder, Janine Collaço, a researcher in the Anthropology of Food, who passed away in September 2024. To honor her and acknowledge the remarkable competence and professionalism of Professor Janine, we attempt to reconstruct the path of GECCA over its twelve years of existence, its productions and outcomes, and especially the participation of some of the individuals who were part of it and who were essential to the group's success up to today.
