Abstract

This article summarizes my master's dissertation in the field of the Anthropology of Food. It shows part of the analytical path on which I built my arguments and developed my considerations. The work shows the production of “quitandas” (greengrocers) in the municipality of Pirenópolis, in the state of Goiás, highlighting how this activity, which is part of food models, is inserted into the current flows of information and people, functioning as a vector of women's empowerment and as a portrait of changes in local urban dynamics.
