Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • I. The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not before another scientific journal for consideration.
  • II. When submitting the work, two files must be posted, separately: the text and the tittle sheet (supplementary document). There will be specific fields for each item.
  • III. The title of the work (article, essay, review or report of research experience) must be in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
  • IV. The abstract structured in an article, essay or report of research experience must be in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
  • V. The submission files must be in Microsoft Word format (DOC, DOCX or RTF).
  • VI. The work must follow the regulations for submission and format indicated in instructions for authors.
  • VII. The work for publication must not contain any information about the author or authors such as name, e-mail, institution, and others.
  • VIII. In case the work has more than one author, all of them must have their names registered in the system at the time of submission, as it will not be allowed to add the name of co-authors after the submission is completed. The ORCID, the institution/affiliation, and the author’s academic-professional brief biography must be completed in the registration.
  • IX. All authors of the work must, mandatorily, inform the ORCID registration number (https://orcid.org/) when registering in the journal's system.
  • X. All authors with works accepted for publication will be invited by the editor-in-chief of Raca, if accepted, to be included in the ad hoc consultants' database.
  • XII. Articles that present results of research involving human beings must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki (1964) .... and be written in the last paragraph of the methodology section of the manuscript.
  • XIII. The opinions expressed and the integrity of the content of the articles are the absolute responsibility of their authors.
  • XIV. Manuscript submission must be made exclusively through the journal's website.
  • XIV. the cover sheet must contain the full name of the author and co-author, degree, institution to which he is linked in full, city, country, mailing address, e-mail and the ORCID registration number.

Author Guidelines

The text of an article or essay must contain:

  • full tittle, concise, and informative, in arial font, size 12, bold, in portuguese, english and spanish.
  • structured abstract (article): introduction, objectives, methodology, results, and conclusion/general considerations. with a maximum of 250 words, in arial font, size 12, with single line spacing, in portuguese, english, and spanish.
  • structured abstract (essay): introduction, theoretical framework, objectives, methodologies, observed results and considerations. with a maximum of 250 words, in arial font, size 12, with single line spacing, in portuguese, english and spanish.
  • a maximum of five keywords, separated by semicolons, in portuguese, english and spanish. do not use acronyms as a keyword.
  • text written in arial font, size 12, with 1.5 spacing between lines and justified margins.
  • a maximum of five tables, illustrations, or
  • bold is used exclusively to highlight subtitles or work divisions. in this case, it must always be in size 12 and presented in upper and lower case (only the first letter capitalized).
  • quotes with more than 3 lines must be in arial font, size 10, with single spacing between the lines, with a 4 cm indentation to the left, without quotation marks. quotes that deal with content related to standards, laws, articles, decrees, and others, with more than 3 lines, must be in arial font, size 10, with simple spacing between the lines, centered, and with indentations of 3 cm in both margins, without quotation marks.
  • images with credit indication and in jpg or png format. image in bmp format will not be accepted.
  • footnotes, endnotes, and attachments will not be accepted.
  • bibliographic references listed in order of appearance in the text. the identification of the authors listed in the bibliographic reference must be indicated in the text by Arabic numerals in parentheses, superscript (Oliveira (1) (2)).

The structured abstract of the report of research experience must contain an introduction, theoretical framework of reference, objectives, methodologies, observed results, and considerations.

Supplementary document (mandatory documentation)

  • the cover sheet must contain the full name of the author and co-author, degree, institution to which he is linked in full, city, country, mailing address, e-mail and the ORCID registration number.

 Formatting bibliographic references

References, those cited throughout the text, must present the complete data and follow the Vancouver Standards. Each reference must be written in Arial font, size 11 (eleven), single-spaced, with the line spacing of 6 pt after the reference paragraph. Bibliographic references must be listed in order of appearance in the text.

Book by a single author

Author. Title of the book. Edition. City of publication: Editorial; year. In this case, it is not necessary to specify the first edition, only from the second onwards.

Book in electronic format

Author/authors. Title of the book. Edition. City of publication: Editorial; year. E-mail

Newspaper articles

Author of the article. Title of the article. Name of the newspaper. Day month Year; Section: page (column).

Article published in a scientific journal

Author/authors. Title of the article. International abbreviation for the journal. year; volume (number): initial-final page of the article. If there are more than six authors, the first six are mentioned, followed by the abbreviation "et al."

Article published in an electronic scientific journal

Author/authors of the article. Title of the article. Name of the journal, year [date of consultation]; volume (number): [Extension/pages]. E-mail.

Online publishing

Author/s of the publication. Title of the publication. Year [date of consultation]. E-mail.

Paper presented at an event - Symposiums, Conferences, Congresses, Seminars, Encounters, Workshops, Colloquiums, among others

The type of publication, event number and name; date of completion (day month year); City and country of the event. City of publication: Publisher or institution responsible for the publication; year of edition (it’s not always the same as the event).

Legal documents

Title of law/decree/order... (Name of Official Bulletin, number, date of publication)

Online database

Institution/Author. Title [database on the Internet]. City of publication: Publisher; Creation date, [consultation date]. E-mail.

Audiovisual material

Author/authors. Title of the video. Place of edition: Publisher; year. Applicable to all audiovisual media.

Monograph, dissertation, or thesis

Author. Title. (subtitle if any) Type of document. City: Institution where it was defended; year.

Essay

This section publishes essays based on well-developed, formal, discursive and conclusive logical exposition. The author must develop an argument based on empirical and bibliographical documentation, in a structured way and with good interpretation (maximum 8,000 words and 5 illustrations).

Article

This section publishes articles resulting from empirical research (maximum 6,000 words and 5 illustrations) and review articles (maximum 8,000 words and 5 illustrations).

Review

This section publishes reviews of books or theses that deal with the journal's theme (maximum 1,400 words). The author must highlight the relevance of the work to the field in which it is inserted, and produce critical discussions about it. The format is free.

Narrative

Brief report with a maximum of five pages and may contain images.

Relatos de experiência de pesquisa/ Narrativa

This section publishes reports of research experiences that can make a relevant contribution to the thematic area of Raca. The text should be objective, set out considerations and reflections, and be based on the experience reported and its respective theoretical framework (maximum 6,000 words and 5 illustrations).

Entrevistas

This section publishes transcripts of conversations with personalities whose contribution is relevant to RACA.
