Abstract

This article describes the celebration of the Holy Kings, where the child of God is celebrated in the p´hurepecha community of San Pedro Zacán. In this party, as in other parties, the guests are given food to taste, which is prepared in the cargueros’ house, but the peculiarity is that this work is carried out in the middle of a unique game. The play has its reason to be in the belief that since a child is being celebrated, moments of fun should be promoted (in the preparation and with drink and food) so that the Child of God can enjoy them, since he is watching everything that happens in the celebration. However, through this case, it was glimpsed how the festival in the p´hurepcha communities are essential to obtain social recognition, by assuming the figure of the freighter, which can lead to significant indebtedness on the part of freighter and their families. It should be noted that this festival has not been studied, unlike the Concurso de la Raza Purhepecha is also held in this town in the state of Michoacan, Mexico.
